Nur Nadiah Osman breaks Malaysian Javelin Record
>> May 12, 2013
NILAI (Malaysia) 12.05.13 ____ A NEW Malaysian National Record established in the women's Javelin Throw during the 2013 Negeri-Sembilan State Championships. SITI NUR NADIAH OSMAN (b. 25 February 1993) who registered a throw of 45.87m in her 5th attempt, successfully surpassed Ho Sin Hui 44.98 NR set in 2008 Malaysian Games in Kuala Terengganu.
Nur Fathin Adibah Surahman came 2nd in 42.96 while Nur Akilah Amran 3rd in 236.54.
Readers may NOT be confused the the better distances or marks by Norsham Yoon who finally has thrown her best at 47.50m in 1989 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, which is now to be valued as "national best" only as it was achieved with 'old' javelin specification.
New javelin specification for women's JT has been introduced in 1999.
Meanwhile SUKMA Gold medalist Harith Ammar Sobri takes the men's 100m title, clocking 10.8h (-2.7), ahead of Sebastian Lee who crosses the line in 10.9h. Heats in the morning seems to produce better timings because of the conditions with some tailwinds. In heat 6 Shahmimi Azmi has run the fastest among finalists with a time of 10.77 (finals false start) followed by Sebastian in 10.87 in the same heat.
Women's 100m final was won by Komalam Shally in 12.2h (-2.4), beating Siti Zubaidah Adabi in 2nd place (12.4h).
More to come.
