Betty Heidler's 79.42m Hammer Throw World Record Video

>> May 23, 2011

German's Betty Heidler has broken the Hammer Throw's World record during a local meet in Halle, Germany in May 21. The 2010 European champion who has a personal record of 77.12m before the meet hurled the iron ball at a distance of 79.42m at her third attempt, surpassing Anita Wlodarczyk's World record by more than a metre (78.30m).

Betty Heidler won the gold medal at the 2007 World championship in athletics in Osaka but lost the gold medal in the hands of Anita Wlodarczyk of Poland during the 2009 World championship in her homeland, Berlin. Now, Deagu 2011 will be more exciting!!.

Do you think we'll see someone to break the 80 metres mark soon (in which equivalent to 'breaking 10.00 in 100m', or maybe more)? or during the World championship in athletics in Deagu?
